Sleep is a mixed bag: beds and pillows are comfortable, but sound isolation is the weak point.

Sleep is a mixed bag: beds and pillows are comfortable, but sound isolation is the weak point. Guests mention quiet rooms, yet street, hallway, neighbouring-room and mechanical noise can disturb light sleepers, and street light may get past the curtains. Choose it if the central location matters more than guaranteed quiet.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 8.71/10 on average.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 7.33/10 on average.
Loved the room and how quiet it was despite the central location
comfortable bed
Streets are quite noisy so keeping the windows open might no be a good idea
Building works in the hotel - half of lobby and bar area out of use

Cleanliness is usually a strength, but the hotel’s upkeep is inconsistent.
Check before bookingSupplied reviews report mould, sewer or drain smells, leaks, slow drainage, and paint marks.
Cleanliness is usually a strength, but the hotel’s upkeep is inconsistent. Guests mention spotless rooms alongside mould, drainage smells, leaks and tired bathroom details. It suits travellers who can accept some variation in condition rather than expect everything to feel freshly renovated.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 8.47/10 on average.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 8.38/10 on average.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 7.75/10 on average.
The room was spotless and the bed was really comfortable
I found a pair of dirty socks leftover in the drawer
especially around the bathroom door are tired
6/10. Overall condition is mixed: cleanliness is generally praised, but supplied reviews document odors, mould, plumbing failures, moisture damage, older installations, and paint marks. The evidence supports concrete limitations but not a property-wide failure.
Evidence confidence: higher. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Do the staff fix things when they go wrong?
377 reviews about this · 4 photos available · analyzed Oct 2026.
Staff are one of the hotel’s strongest points: guests frequently describe them as friendly, helpful and efficient. Check-in is often smooth, though problem-solving is less dependable when something goes wrong. Service-focused travellers should find plenty to like here.

Great location and the staff were all helpful and friendly
The check in was so smooth
Breakfast staff not very professional
they did not and I was exhausted so left until I could check in
Is breakfast worth booking?

Breakfast is generally worth booking for its quality, range and attractive setting.
Check before bookingBreakfast may be served at a partner property rather than on-site, with one review noting a five-minute walk.
Breakfast is generally worth booking for its quality, range and attractive setting. Some guests report excellent food and coffee, while others dislike particular dishes or the automatic coffee machine; breakfast may also be served at a nearby partner property. Book it if convenience is less important than a good morning spread.

The hotel is aesthetically pleasing - very well decorated and the breakfast was delicious and big!
a kettle and also the coffee machine was amazing
We made a bad choice for breakfast and had a very strange eggs benedict on a piece of cake and it was stone cold?
I would have liked proper coffee at breakfast instead of from an automatic machine

There is no reliable evidence of a swimming pool or pool area, and the supplied photographs do not show one. Do not choose this hotel expecting the pool shown by a listing or provider score.
Scored 0 because no supplied evidence establishes that a swimming pool exists. This is an evidence-based absence assessment, not confirmation that the property definitively has no pool.

How well placed is it, really?

The location is a major strength: it is central, highly walkable and convenient for attractions, restaurants, cafés and public transport.
Check before bookingThe central tourist setting can be noisy; supplied reviews mention street, nightlife, construction and waste-related noise.
The location is a major strength: it is central, highly walkable and convenient for attractions, restaurants, cafés and public transport. The trade-off is urban noise, while narrow or pedestrianised streets can make taxi drop-offs less straightforward. It is best for visitors who plan to explore the city on foot.
The hotel is at a really good location - we walked to most places
less than 1 minute's walk from the metro Baixa-Chiado
you have to walk to a different building
Shower room floors are bit slippery and no safety handles
8.4/10: Excellent documented access to attractions, food, shopping and public transport supports a high location score. It is reduced by recent and older reports of noise, tourist intensity and occasional taxi access difficulty. The provider dimension score is broadly consistent with this assessment, but retrieved reviews are not prevalence estimates.
Evidence confidence: moderate. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Can you work or take calls from the room?

Wi-Fi appears reliable enough for normal work and calls, and guests describe it as working perfectly.
Check before bookingNo measured speeds or explicit video-call performance evidence is supplied.
Wi-Fi appears reliable enough for normal work and calls, and guests describe it as working perfectly. There are no supplied speed tests, so heavy video-call or large-upload needs remain unverified. It should suit ordinary remote work rather than demanding connectivity requirements.
The WiFi worked perfectly
Scored 8/10 because internet is listed, free Wi-Fi is mentioned, and a recent guest explicitly reports perfect Wi-Fi. The score is not higher because speeds, latency, and representative prevalence are unavailable.
Evidence confidence: higher. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Is the desk usable for a working day?
8 reviews about this · 6 photos available · analyzed Oct 2026.
The rooms can support light work, with desks and some well-equipped setups.
Check before bookingAt least two supplied reviews explicitly describe rooms as too small, limiting confidence that every workspace is practical.
The rooms can support light work, with desks and some well-equipped setups. However, room sizes vary and some guests found their rooms too cramped even for a small desk. It works better for occasional laptop use than for a full working day.

It’s very modern & special with ipad & laptop on desk
The WiFi worked perfectly
I was so cramped that there wasn’t space to even put in a small desk and I ended up eating dinner while sitting on the bed
7/10: desks and chairs are clearly present, and supplied reviews document laptop-oriented equipment. The score is reduced because room-size limitations are explicitly reported and desk dimensions, power access, and natural-light performance are unverified. Retrieved reviews are relevance-selected rather than representative.
Evidence confidence: moderate. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Is there anywhere to train?

Do not rely on the advertised gym: a guest reports that the fitness centre did not exist.
Check before bookingA supplied review states that the advertised fitness centre did not exist.
Do not rely on the advertised gym: a guest reports that the fitness centre did not exist. Choose this hotel only if on-site training is unimportant or you are prepared to exercise elsewhere.
Scored very low because the only explicit gym evidence says the advertised fitness centre did not exist. No supplied evidence establishes current gym availability, equipment, size, condition, lighting, or crowding; the corpus count is a lower-bound detection and does not establish prevalence.
Evidence confidence: moderate. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Is it worth the money?
26 reviews about this · analyzed Oct 2026.
The hotel generally offers good value, helped by its central location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Value becomes less convincing when noise, cramped rooms or maintenance issues affect the stay. It is a stronger deal for sightseers than for guests demanding polished, quiet rooms.

Poor value when: Risk is higher on expensive dates or when booking small rooms, paying for breakfast or restaurant services, or expecting spacious accommodation and fully disclosed inclusions.
