7.0/10 · our pool score

The rooftop pool is attractive and relaxing, especially for its city views, but it is small. Guests praise its atmosphere and cleanliness, while limited seating can make it difficult to use at busy times. It is better for a scenic dip than for a full pool day.

Rooftop outdoor pool with documented city views.
Guests describe the pool as lovely, clean, relaxing, and a highlight.

Know the trade-off

1 Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

Ascott Star KLCC Kuala Lumpur

7.0/10 · our pool score

The pool delivers excellent rooftop views and is a genuine highlight, but the deck is small and can feel crowded. Limited loungers, occasional maintenance issues and reported closures matter most if you want a relaxed pool day rather than a quick swim with a view.

Why it makes the list

Two outdoor pools and a kids' pool are listed.
The rooftop pool has documented Petronas Towers and city views.
Several supplied reviews praise the pool area and views.

Know the trade-off

The rooftop pool deck is described as small and crowded at sunset.
Reviews report damaged deck boards, missing tiles, limited seating, absent poolside towels, and occasional closure.
One supplied review reports an unclean pool, but this is not sufficient to establish prevalence.

A little preparation pays off

Before you book

Good stays begin with a little planningEditorial illustration

Check whether the rooftop pool is open to all guests or only certain room categories or club levels.
Rooftop pools can close for wind, storms or private events; ask about closures on your dates.
Look for shade and lounger space — a striking view does not make a pool comfortable at midday.

Our selection method

Why these hotels?

We compare our reviewed Kuala Lumpur hotels. A pick needs a category score of at least 7/10, at least moderate model confidence, and five relevant guest reviews or at least three facility photos. The analysis must be no more than 180 days old.

We order by category score, then confidence and review evidence. These are AI-assisted assessments, not guest-star ratings or guarantees. Model confidence is a self-assessment, not a statistical probability. We flag evidence older than 30 days. Commission does not affect inclusion or order. We have not visited these hotels in person.
