Sleep is a mixed bag: the setting and some rooms are quiet, but thin walls, hallway noise and noisy air-conditioning can disrupt the night. Beds and pillows suit some guests, though comfort is not consistent. Light sleepers should request a quiet room.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 8.9/10 on average.
Excellent quiet and comfortable stay
the bed was extremely comfortable
It was quite noisy during the night and early mornings
Can hear neighbours talking and move around easily

Rooms are usually clean and look modern, but upkeep is not consistently dependable. Guests have reported mould, dust, sewer smells, pests and slow or cool bathroom water. Expect a decent overall standard, while checking the bathroom promptly.

Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 8.25/10 on average.
The rooms were clean and came with unlimited free water
sewer gas smell in bathroom
there were many mosquitoes in the property so do bring insect repellent
7.5/10: Overall condition appears generally good based on strong cleanliness praise, modern presentation and mostly positive maintenance evidence. The score is restrained by recent, specific reports of mould, odours, dust, poor bathroom cleaning and pool cleanliness; the supplied evidence does not establish a reliable deterioration trend.
Evidence confidence: moderate. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.

Friendly, helpful staff are one of CREW Hotel’s stronger points, and check-in is usually easy. A few guests describe rude or unhelpful interactions, especially on particular shifts, and problem-solving is less consistent. It suits travellers who value a welcoming team but do not expect every issue to be handled perfectly.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help
The staff are super nice with easy check-in and out
Very rude night shift staff shouting at guests even before midnight
Receptionist on early arrival Not friendly at all felt I shouldn't be there

Breakfast is usually a highlight, with a varied, fresh buffet and good coffee. One recent report raised a serious concern about fried food being served cold, so quality control has not been flawless. It is worth booking for most guests, but inspect hot food before eating.

The pool is the weak point compared with the photos: it is indoor, narrow and often described as small, cold or lacking privacy.
Check before bookingMultiple supplied reviews describe the pool as small, cold, or uninviting.
The pool is the weak point compared with the photos: it is indoor, narrow and often described as small, cold or lacking privacy. It can work for a quick dip or some lap swimming, but not as a proper resort-style pool. Guests choosing the hotel for pool time should temper expectations.

The pool is also wonderful to just relax in after a long day of exploring Chiang Mai or as a place to cool off during the mid day sun
The pool is inside in the foyer/breakfast area - no privacy and very dark
The pool exists and has a potentially useful lap-oriented shape, but the overall guest experience is limited by its small indoor design, low privacy, and repeated supplied complaints about cold water. The corpus statistics also show detected pool complaints exceeding detected praise, while the retrieved reviews are not prevalence estimates.
Evidence confidence: higher. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.

The hotel is well placed for walking to the Old City, markets, cafés and restaurants while sitting in a quieter residential area.
Check before bookingSeveral reviews describe the hotel as off the main road or somewhat far from amenities.
The hotel is well placed for walking to the Old City, markets, cafés and restaurants while sitting in a quieter residential area. Its tucked-away access can confuse larger vehicles and some ride-hailing pickups, and a few guests find it farther from amenities than expected. It suits walkers and Grab users more than guests relying on easy front-door taxi access.
easy walking distance to the old town
Access to Grab is easy and affordable to go around chiang mai
Location canbe abit off put as its not walkable to nearby stores or the old city
when we got tuk tuks home in the evening they didn’t quite understand where they were going as some maps don’t show the road to the hotel
The score combines access to nearby places, transport and sightseeing. Nearby-place counts and distances come from the stored Google Maps/POI scrape; guest reviews supply the practical walkability and taxi context.
Evidence confidence: moderate. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.

Wi-Fi is available and can be fast, but some guests report interruptions, weak signals at the edges and dropped connections. It should handle ordinary browsing, though it is not a safe bet for uninterrupted calls or streaming. Remote workers should test the signal in their room on arrival.

The rooms offer a usable desk and nearby power for basic laptop work, but the chair and lighting are not ideal for a full working day. Some guests have improvised seating, and insufficient light can make reading tiring. It is better for short work sessions than a dedicated work stay.

there was ample space for us who brought in work (laptop
Wifi is very fast
We had to bring a desk chair in from the bench in the lounge area
Wifi was cutting all the time I was watching a football world cup game a little of frustration
The dedicated desk, seating, and nearby outlets support basic laptop work. The score is held below clearly good because one supplied review explicitly reports inadequate reading light, and the evidence does not establish monitor suitability or ergonomic comfort.

Is it worth the money?
52 reviews about this · analyzed Oct 2026.
CREW Hotel generally offers strong value, combining a good location, friendly service and appealing breakfast at a price guests often find reasonable. The value drops if you encounter noisy rooms, bathroom problems or expect resort facilities such as a proper pool or gym. It is best for travellers prioritising everyday comfort and convenience over extensive amenities.
It's definitely the most value for money hotel I had ever stayed in my life so far and I had been travelling around the world for 25 years!
This place is basically an overpriced hostel
