Will you actually sleep here?
188 reviews about this · analyzed Oct 2026.
Sleep is hit-or-miss rather than reliably restful.
Check before bookingSleep quality is inconsistent: supplied reviews report poor soundproofing, loud mechanical noise, traffic, door slamming, and nighttime disturbances.
Sleep is hit-or-miss rather than reliably restful. Peaceful surroundings and generally comfortable beds help, but weak soundproofing, noisy air-conditioning, traffic, doors, plumbing and even elevator machinery disturb some rooms. Light sleepers should request a quiet room carefully.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 7/10 on average.
Those who complained rated the whole stay 6.5/10 on average.
A quiet and beautiful hotel in a traditional Thai style
Spacious rooms with super comfortable bed and perfect bathroom
The elevator mechanism was right above the room's ceiling causing loud noises throughout the day and night
The air conditioning unit was horrendously noisy when we could get it to work
Mixed sleep experience, scored below average because multiple supplied reviews document disruptive nighttime or mechanical noise and poor soundproofing, including one stay where the guest could not sleep. Positive reviews describe peaceful surroundings, but the corpus shows 42 detected noise complaints across stored reviews; this is a lower-bound count and not a prevalence estimate.

What are the rooms actually like?

Guests rate this 9.4 (city average 8.4); our evidence assessment is 7.0. These use different methods and samples; the detail below explains our assessment.
The rooms are a genuine strength, especially if you value space and traditional style. Guests often praise the generous size, beds and views, but bathroom problems and occasional mismatches between advertised room types and reality take the shine off. It suits travelers who prefer character and room to spare over a polished modern finish.

The hotel looks attractive but feels noticeably dated and unevenly maintained. Many guests find rooms clean, while others report dust, damp smells, mold, drainage problems and worn furnishings. It is better for travelers who appreciate traditional character and can tolerate occasional maintenance lapses.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 6.84/10 on average.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 6.72/10 on average.
Guests reporting this gave the whole stay 7.4/10 on average.
The room was indeed spacious and very clean and comfortable
Our room was very dusty and was cleaned our after our 3rd request
Room and furniture was old and dated
Overall condition is ordinary to somewhat below clearly good: cleanliness receives substantial praise, but room maintenance, damp or odor complaints, plumbing failures, and datedness materially reduce the guest experience. Recent complaints exist, but the supplied material does not establish an improving or deteriorating trend.
Evidence confidence: moderate. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Do the staff fix things when they go wrong?

Guests rate this 9.1 (city average 8.5); our evidence assessment is 6.5. These use different methods and samples; the detail below explains our assessment.
Staff are usually friendly, but fixing problems is less dependable. Guests praise the welcome and personal attention, yet some describe indifferent service, awkward charges or poor follow-through when something goes wrong. Expect warmth more consistently than strong problem-solving.

The staff was exceptional and catered to our group making us feel very special
Check in/check out was easy
The staff were indifferent except the woman selling tours
An irritant was they made me pay them 1000 baht for a late check out extension
Is breakfast worth booking?

Breakfast is decent but not a clear must-book.
Check before bookingSupplied reviews also describe limited variety, weak vegetarian or gluten-free provision, inconsistent replenishment, and mixed quality.
Breakfast is decent but not a clear must-book. Guests praise the buffet’s taste, variety and value, while others find the choice limited, replenishment inconsistent and coffee disappointing; dietary options also seem weak. It works for flexible eaters, but picky or vegetarian guests may prefer nearby cafés.

Breakfast was great with lots of options hot and cold and the pool/bar food was outstanding especially the spring rolls
coffee
The breakfast we didn’t love - not too many options and food was a solid ok
There’s an issue with one of the two coffee machines: the coffee from it had a very unpleasant

The pool is one of Pingviman’s best features and broadly lives up to its photos.
Check before bookingSome supplied reviews report cold water, limited shade, awkward access, maintenance concerns, or temporary closure.
The pool is one of Pingviman’s best features and broadly lives up to its photos. Its clean, warm, peaceful courtyard setting feels like an oasis, although shade, access, water temperature and occasional maintenance can disappoint. It is especially appealing to guests who want a relaxing hotel base rather than a large resort pool.

The pool area is an inner courtyard and an amazing oasis from the sometimes chaotic scene on the streets
The public spaces such as the pool are relatively small so the presence of kids can disrupt the atmosphere
The pool is a documented strength: it is visibly substantial and courtyard-centered, and supplied guests repeatedly praise its beauty, cleanliness, warmth, and relaxing setting. The score is moderated by reports of cold or unusable water, awkward access, limited shade, maintenance concerns, and a temporary closure. Retrieved reviews are selected examples and cannot establish complaint prevalence.

The location is strong for exploring Chiang Mai’s Old City on foot.

The location is strong for exploring Chiang Mai’s Old City on foot. Restaurants, cafés, shops and sights are nearby, and taxis are easy enough, though some major attractions take a longer walk and the surrounding streets are not always quiet. Choose it for walkable sightseeing, not a secluded neighborhood.
Location was fantastic and very close (walking distance) to all the major sights
egg station good
30 min walk or taxi to get to main sights and shopping
The breakfast was terrible there was an egg station
The score combines access to nearby places, transport and sightseeing. Nearby-place counts and distances come from the stored Google Maps/POI scrape; guest reviews supply the practical walkability and taxi context.

Wi-Fi is generally usable, with some guests calling it excellent, but it is not proven reliable enough for demanding remote work. Reports of disconnections and device connection problems mean video calls could be frustrating. It should suit light work and browsing better than mission-critical calls.

The room has a desk, but it is only a moderate setup for working. Wi-Fi feedback is fairly positive, yet the desk, chair, outlets and monitor space are not established, and some rooms may be dark. It is fine for short laptop sessions, not an assured full working day.
All the staff were really friendly and Anne on the tour desk was really knowledgable and helpful
wifi was excellent and that was my #1 worry as other rated the wifi poorly
I went back to my Room and I discovered the technician had left my Door open leaving his own Key on the desk: this was Crazy!
the TV had no comnection to the hotel wi fi
The workspace scores 6/10 because a desk is documented in room photography, but its dimensions, chair quality, outlet access, and practical laptop or monitor suitability are unknown. The stored corpus contains six praise mentions and two complaint mentions, though these counts are lower-bound detections and do not establish prevalence.
Evidence confidence: limited. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.

There is a gym, but it is basic and inconsistent rather than a major amenity. The equipment looks varied and the pool view is pleasant, while guests also report broken or poorly maintained machines. Casual exercisers should manage; serious trainers may want another option.

The fitness room is well-equipped and offers a lovely view of the pool while you work out
Some gym equipment was broken
The gym clearly exists and offers varied cardio and strength equipment, but the overall guest experience is limited by reports that it is small, basic, poorly maintained, or partly unusable. The retrieved reviews are relevance-selected rather than representative; corpus statistics provide context but not prevalence estimates.
Evidence confidence: higher. This is a model assessment, not a statistical probability. Limited or inconsistent sources reduce confidence.
Is it worth the money?
29 reviews about this · analyzed Oct 2026.
Guests rate this 9.0 (city average 8.2); our evidence assessment is 6.5. These use different methods and samples; the detail below explains our assessment.
Value is reasonable but depends on how much you prize the style, space and pool. Guests often find the hotel good value, but some feel the price is high for dated facilities and uneven upkeep. It is most worthwhile when the traditional atmosphere and location matter more than flawless maintenance.
Really excellent value for money!
Enfin je trouve l’hôtel très cher pour les services et les infrastructures
